The Alighieri “A” is one of the four apartments comprising the whole top floor of an historical Palazzo located in the west side of the Castello District, only a few minutes’ walk from San Marco Square.
It is a charming top-floor studio apartment accessible by elevator and from a very bright and elegant shared entrance hall giving on to the large communal terraces.
It is compact yet elegantly furnished with a modern full-optional kitchen and a luxury mosaic marble bathroom with fancy shower cabin. There are two single beds that can be also used as king size bed. Built-in cabinets offer plenty of storage space also for a long-term stay. There Wi-Fi, air-conditioning, washing machine, dishwasher, oven, fridge, electric stoves, kettle, etc.
The entire property has been completely and luxuriously refurbished in 2013: the elevator has been installed, the original Venetian Terrazzo flooring renovated, frescoes and stuccoes brought back to the ancient splendour, the spacious terrace has been equipped with table, sunshade and sun chairs.
The building is accessible by private water taxi from the airport in only 20 minutes and it takes less than 5 minutes’ walk to reach the Vaporetto/Alilaguna (ferry boat) stop San Zaccaria, thus very central.
In the surroundings there are lots of artisan and antique ateliers, local food shops and delicious osterie (traditional restaurants). Some of the cultural landmarks that can be found close by in Castello beside the well-known Arsenale and Biennale Gardens include Basilica Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, Church of San Giorgio dei Greci, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Church of San Zaccaria and many others.
The Alighieri "A" can also be combined with the Alighieri “B”, “C” and/or “D”, located on the same floor and more spacious. We called this combination of apartments Palazzo Alighieri: a perfect accommodation solution for groups that aim for maximum privacy or for family reunions with well-behaved children.

October 2024, Saskia (Belgium) Tout était super et l'ascenseur est un véritable luxe après les journées passées à explorer Venise. L'appartement est bien agencé et tout est agréable. Le quartier est bien desservi en magasins de proximité et proche d'un arrêt de Vaporetto. Bref nous avons passé un super séjour.
This apartment is fantastic and a great place to stay whilst in Venice. The apartment is on the forth (4) floor of a block that sits by a canal side with a bridge over to, two (2) restaurants and 3 min walk to a food shop, store, for all your food, drink need's, it sits in a back alley which is quiet, of the main water front just down form the main plaza Del Marco, 6 mins away and is a great location, base, to get any where on the island, as you can walk around the whole island in a day if you wish. the apartment has all you need, cooker, oven, fridge, dishwasher, sit in shower and window shutters to black out the room at night, a must for us and some thing that is not in the holiday let description, which was fantastic for us at this age, a lift that only go's to the forth (4) floor ( I think this was put in for some one that was disabled be fore the flat was for renting ), walk down the stairs, lift up the stair, great at the end of the day, but the best part is the roof terraces, one for sitting, eating and one for sun bathing, these are shared but at the time we were their, it was only us, come out your front door, left ,up 5 steps, 12 feet on the right, door to the bottom of the 2 terraces that has step's on the right to the top terrace, great out side space. With map in hand to get your way around all the back alleys it was great fun trying to find a way to all the main walk ways and back to the flat from different directions, after 3 days we had the run of the island to and from the flat with just the map for reference. fantastic flat, great place, great people, a great holiday in Venice
The apartment is stylish and well equipped and in a good location. In October we could still spend time on the roof terrace catching a few rays and eating lunch of bread, cheese and salami bought at the local shop. A lovely place to escape the bustle of Venice occasionally, before venturing out again to experience this wonderful city. Truly Venice staff were wonderfully helpful and accommodating throughout our stay.
October 2017, Karen (UK) One of 3 apartments in a converted palazzo, in a quiet area away from the crowds towards the Arsenale. Mini supermarket around the corner and good non-tourist restaurants in easy reach. laundry room, lift and shared balcony. We were met by the agent's representative at the waterbus stop, accompanied to the apartment and were given instructions, a good map and recommendations, etc. The company is reliable and helpful and the whole process was simple and easy - would not hesitate to use Truly Venice or stay there again. The S. Zaccaria (S Marco) stop is served by multiple waterbus lines to everywhere - ideal in all respects.

Found this at the 11th hour so to speak. Fantastic location only approx 10/15 minutes to St Marks Square. Grocery store located 2 minutes walk from apartment. Fantastic Roof terrace for soaking up the Rays. Well equipped apartment but could have done with a microwave. Free wifi, tv and ironing board.
