Castello is less touristy and more authentic than other districts, in the last few years always more requested by art collectors, artists, gallerists and architects because of its proximity to the Biennale main exhibition sites.
The Petrarca features a perfectly equipped kitchen with a large dining table, two nice bathrooms (with bathtub and shower), a large double bedroom with plenty of wardrobe space, a good size second bedroom with 2 single beds, a compact living room (TV room) with a brand-new double sofa-bed and a spacious entrance room found in the centre of the apartment which give access to all other rooms. The recent conservative renovation optimized the layout, allowing total comfort for up to 6 people, while respecting the ancient heritage.
The Petrarca is furnished with a pleasant blend of family-owned antique pieces and contemporary details, which jointly to the beautiful flooring and ceilings confer a unique allure to the ambience. It is equipped with air conditioning, Wi-Fi internet connection, satellite TV, DVD-Player, audio system, washing machine, dishwasher, hairdryer, safe, storage room on ground floor. It is suitable to everyone, small groups of friends and families!

This is the second time we have stayed in the Petrarca apartment for ten days. Although there are no wonderful views over the canals we find the situation ideal. It is in the Castello area of Venice and therefore away from the hotspots of tourism but within a few minutes you can be at the Rialto bridge, San Marco and other well-known destinations. The vaporetto stop, Celestia, is only 5 minutes away. Don't use Ospedale the route to Celestia is spacious and quiet. Downstairs you will find a wine shop and just across the way an excellent delicatessen. If you need a bigger shop then there is a supermarket three minutes away. The apartment is provided with everything you would expect in your own home. At night the streets are quiet and during the day you will hear young people going to school and the friendly banter of the local population. You will not be aware of tourist groups going around. For eating there are many good restaurants close by. Finally I would like to mention the agent "Truly Venice", they were superb. They were very keen that my wife and | enjoyed our time in Venice and if we had any problems we could easily contact them. Nothing seemed to much of a problem and they were a very good friend to us throughout the stay.

Spacious apartment with excellent location to local bakeries, markets, and an easy walk to the waterbus. Concierge level treatment by Truly Venice staff!

Our thanks to "Truly Venice" whose organisation and help was faultless. Our apartment was in a residential district and although we didn't have canal views its situation was very good, with a wine shop and an outstanding grocer at the bottom of the stairs and a supermarket just around the corner. It was a quieter area than many in Venice and was easy an area in which to get to many sights. The Vaporetto was around 6 to 10 minutes away, not the 3 minutes they advertise. I would advise getting a taxi when you first arrive as that will get you to within one minute of the apartment. There are some wonderful friendly restaurants close by. The apartment itself was equipped with absolutely everything that you could need or want. If we had any criticism it was of the beds. The singles are quite creaky and the double bed had two single mattresses which split apart in the night. This was a memorable holiday for us both and we didn't want to leave.

From the moment we booked, Truly Venice staff managed ALL the details, which made our trip so easy. We booked well in advance and then TV reached out to us about a week out to confirm and get name/DOB info for each of us. At that time they gave us the option to book a private water taxi (highly recommend paying the $$ for this) from Marco Polo and provided our arrival information. We arrived at the airport and proceeded to the taxi kiosk to pay. At that point, the woman called TV staff to let them know we’d arrived, and we were on our way in the taxi. The driver delivered us to a stop that was only a two-minute walk from the Petrarca apartment. There the Truly Venice representative was waiting for us. He walked us to the apt, showed us around, told us what we needed to know and showed us some key places on a foldout map, includuing nearby stores/restaurants. The Petrarca apartment was as beautiful as the pictures and was so comfortable. Plenty of space, two bathrooms, huge kitchen...with al the amenities...they provided a 3-ring binder with pictures and step-by-step instructions for how to operate ALL the appliances - even the toaster. We loved the Petrarca apartment and Truly Venice AND have already recommended them to friends.

Petrarca is a delightful Venice home. It is well positioned for the Alilaguna and Vaporetto services and it is easy to reach any place of interest, while being tucked away in a quiet residential district, with excellent greengrocer, grocer, bakery, butchers and a supermarket nearby. The flat is spacious, bright, elegantly and distinctively furnished, has very nice bathrooms, and a very fully equipped kitchen. I stayed for a month and would be happy to stay longer. And I hope to another time! The Truly Venice team were very helpful, from check-/out to handling any practical issues that came up. I strongly recommend.

Beautiful apartment on a quiet street in Venice. The apartment was beautiful, and very comfortable for a longer stay. The location was on a quiet street. For those attending the Venice Bienale, it was in perfect proximity to the Arsenale and the Giardini, while still close to great restaurants. The hosts were very helpful in getting us oriented and helping us find great local restaurants. We loved our stay.

We booked this apartment as we were travelling as a family but also wanted a space to entertain in. We were met by Enrico from the water bus that brought us from the airport. He was very helpful and showed us everything we needed to know about the apartment and provided a map and some local recommendations for coffee and dining. Off the tourist track this pleasant two bedroom apartment was perfectly equipped and had been recently refurbished to a high standard with new bathrooms and kitchen. We found it very comfortable and tastefully furnished. It was in a residential area so although quiet at night, the air could at times be filled with the voices of locals during the day but this added to the Venetian atmosphere!
