The Michiel is a luxury historic home with independent entrance embodying the essence of the Venetian lifestyle found in a surprisingly quiet little square close to Campo Santi Apostoli.
It is located only 5 minutes’ walk to the Rialto Bridge and its colourful open-air market. This is a convenient location close to everything, tucked away from the crowd, easy to reach from both public transports or water taxi.
The private entrance hall at the ground floor reveals a lot about the long history of this place: century old raw bricks, thick wooden beams and stone sculptures match up with the antique furniture. Through a large wooden staircase, you access the huge living room furnished with a beautiful antique dining table and plenty of sitting space on comfortable sofas. The living room and two bedrooms face a small and quiet square facing south and are inundated with light, while the rest of the house receive little sun but is well illuminated artificially.
The master bedroom is particularly beautiful and spacious, with a set of antique furniture and a king size bed. The second bedroom is furnished with two single beds that can be pushed together and be used as queen size bed, on request. The third bedroom on the back of the house is furnished with 2 single beds and a desk and has an en-suite bathroom.
This apartment has a welcoming sort of atmosphere enhanced by the large use of antique wood, including parquet, windows and beams. Every piece of furniture in this house is precious, dating back one or more centuries, including the stunning original sculptured doors: guests who have the privilege to stay at the Michiel apartment should take care of the furniture to avoid damages.
The care taking landlord didn't compromise on technology either: the 2 bathrooms are completely new and very functional with large shower box, the kitchen is spacious and very well equipped with every possible amenity, there is air conditioning in every room, Wi-Fi internet connection, large TV with international channels (Sky Tv), DVD player, good sound system, washing machine, dishwasher, etc.
We suggest the Michiel apartment to demanding guests, possibly adults or anyway responsible children. We also recommend to catch a private water taxi to reach the apartment especially if you carry plenty of luggage.

We spent a month in the apartment and would’ve stayed longer but wasn’t available. Apartment was comfortable for 6 people. Well equipped but pots & pans need updating. Great location with some amazing restaurants in the vicinity. Also access to good transport at F.te Nove - ideal way to arrive from airport and go to Burano/Murano and also Ca’D’Oro to go up & down Grand Canal.

October 2024, Liz (UK) This was an excellent choice!!!! The location for a first time Venetian visit is perfect. The process of arriving, departing and organizing was perfection. Venice could be difficult without knowledge on how to move about. The property was informative and helpful. The apartment was spacious and perfect for my family of young adults. Comfortable beds with very western amenities but still had the charm of being in an old city. The area is safe and plenty of restaurants, 5-15 walk to everything Venice! We loved it and I will definitely stay again if I return.

Apartment in great location for exploring Venice on foot. We have stayed in this area on previous occasions and so were able to get out within an hour of arrival to visit the first museum of this trip. The introduction to the apartment was slightly delayed but once the representative was with us we were given a pleasant welcome and full explanation of all the amenities available to us. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
The Michiel apartment is located in a quiet square and only 4 minutes to the Rialto Bridge and 6 minutes to San Marco. Supermarkets, restaurants and cafes are minutes from Michiel, however, the "hustle and bustle" of Venice does not impact on the serenity of the apartment. The Michiel apartment is perfection for the traveller, whether a family or a group of friends. The apartment is decorated to reflect the historical aspects of Venice, however, every "mod-con" is available for the guest. The service from Truly Venice was second to none with tips for visiting attractions, fine dining, cafes, transportation, porters, shopping, personally detailed maps illustrating where a guest is and where they should go to meet their individual needs. The apartment Michiel was and is amazing, the service from Truly Venice was absolutely outstanding. My stay in Venice was perfection due to the service from Truly Venice and the luxury afforded by the Michiel apartment.
A lovely restored flat in the heart of Venice. Just minutes from the Rialto bridge, this flat is nestled in a truly Venetian neighborhood, providing a welcome oasis from the crowds. The flat is as beautiful in person as it is in the pictures. The neighborhood has a grocery story, great cafe, and local eateries in the nearby square. The Truly Venice team were great to work with from booking the reservation to greeting us when we arrived. They helped arrange transport, making it easy for us (a group of 6) to arrive and depart. We would rent Michiel again, but next time we would be better prepared to bring some of our own supplies as the flat does not come with shampoo, soap, conditioner, and there was limited supplies in the kitchen.
I stayed in this apartment with my three girlfriends and it was quiet, spotless, comfortable and beautifully furnished with a very well equipped kitchen should you desire to cook (which we didn't!). The sitting room was very comfortable and spacious enough for all of us to relax with a pre-dinner drink or to relax and have a chat after an evening out. The location was perfect - only a 5 minute walk to the Ca D'Oro vaporetto stop with plenty of shops and restaurants along the way, including a lovely shop that sold very good gelato. Actually, I've never tasted gelato that wasn't good! There is a supermarket literally 2 minutes away from the apartment so buying fruit and bread etc. for breakfast was easy. We all enjoyed our stay here and it was a real bonus to be in a quiet area away from the hustle and bustle surrounding San Marco but nonetheless, very easy to get around being so close to Ca D'Oro. We had a late afternoon flight home and we were able to leave our suitcases in the apartment after the normal checkout time which was very much appreciated. I would certainly recommend this lovely apartment.
If you truly want to enjoy Venice, get away from the tourist areas!! The apartment Michiel is the perfect place to stay to do just that. It is in a quiet piazza yet close enough to everything you need to see and do in Venice. We stayed for 4 nights with my extended family. Some of the group had been to Venice before and never liked it. But this location changed their minds completely. We were able to wonder streets by ourselves and truly get a feel for what Venice is all about. The apartment is a wonderful respite after a long day of walking. Fully appointed with all the amenities. My only complaint would have been that some of the basics were depleted when we arrived - coffee, toilet paper, soap. But there was a large grocery store close by. And Thomas (the building manager) gave us a few euros to buy some of the things that were forgotten.

We rented this apartment on line from Truly Venice and everything was exactly as described - if not better. The apartment was in a quiet square but just two minutes from one of the main streets, and just a 15 minute walk to St Marks. Also very close to where the boat goes to the other main islands in the lagoon. The apartment was really lovely - old style Venetian and with lovely furniture and fittings including some really nice and quite old oil paintings (look out for the dinosaurs in the nativity scene) Service was great including being collected from where the boat left us, and a short introduction and a map with recommended local restaurants, shops etc which really were good. The one time we did need some help (when the internet stopped working following a power cut) it came within an hour. And to really seal this recommendation the weather was great!
I spent one week here with my two adult daughters. We each had our own bedroom, one with bath the other two with a shared bath in the hall. There is a well equipped kitchen. We had our morning coffee and breakfast in every day. Had dinner in several nights as well. It was lovely to have a quiet respite during our active touring. The living room is comfortable offering a pleasant gathering place at the end of a busy day. We found the neighborhood very convenient and a short walk to all the major sites. Our local host met us on arrival and gave us an orientation which included grocers nearby and highlighted map of Venice. I highly recommend this apartment for a group wanting comfort and privacy with ample room to gather for meals or just sharing the events of the day.

Dear Daniela Thanks for letting us use the apartment a bit longer. We left it at 10:30 am yesterday and then returned at 3:30 to pick up our suitcases prior to meeting our taxi. It was so nice not to have to have our last day carrying the suitcase around. It really is a most beautiful apartment. Thank you for your guidance in helping me to choose it. All 4 of us loved it. There is so much generous stylish living space with the most comfortable sofas and marvelous views onto that charming little neighbourhood square. It is perfectly situated - such easy walking and within such a charming locality with the supermarket only a couple of minutes away. We so enjoyed it all - maybe a few days longer to do more walking as well as more resting!! Enrico was really welcoming and helpful too. It really was such a marvelous holiday - just what I wanted. I love being able to have more space for the family and me - hotel rooms can be so small and in Michiel we had an enormous living area in which to just sit and be together in great comfort.
