What better way to arrive in Venice than along the Rio della Pietà to the private water entrance of the Palazzo! From there, ascend a grand stone staircase to the first floor (35 steps up) into the impressive high-ceilinged salon adorned with exquisite frescos by Paolo Pagani, 18th century oil paintings, magnificent antique Murano Rezzonico chandeliers and original terrazzo floors. The spacious salon has both a formal dining area at one end and an elegant, classic sitting area at the other. Both benefit from the abundance of light streaming through the vast Gothic windows, which at one end open onto a stone balcony with views of the canal. Views from the dining area are into the divine private garden below.
Stuccoed portico doorways lead to several rooms: one into the traditional and well-equipped kitchen with many fantastic cookbooks; another into the library with shelves of antique books in a multitude of languages. This tranquil room boasts the most spectacular views of San Giorgio Maggiore through the French doors. A small balcony there is perfect spot for enjoying the perfect view.
The main apartment (Piano Nobile) has three good-sized double bedrooms each with elegant bathrooms. Two bedrooms are on the first floor with high ceilings and the third is on the second floor with exposed beams, parquet floors and nearby bathroom. On the same floor a single bedroom is available on request for extra 10% rental fee. All bedrooms have air-conditioning, luxury bed and bath linens and terry cloth dressing gowns. The entire apartment occupies 350 square meters.
At the Ground Floor there is the Brunelleschi Studio that is conceived as the “guest room” of the Piano Nobile. It is composed of a living room with a comfortable queen size bed, a good size kitchen with basic appliances, a nice little bathroom with shower cabin, and most importantly it gets access to the lovely private courtyard where you can have a refreshing breakfast or an intimate drink at night.
This place is strictly non-smoking. The price includes two hours of maid service six days a week, bath linen changed daily and bed linen changed every third day.
We recommend this incredible home to very discerning travellers or families with well-behaved children, considering the fragility, antiquity and value of paintings, textiles and furnishings.
