In the surroundings there are lots of artisan and antique ateliers, local food shops and delicious osterie (traditional restaurants) and bacari (traditional bars). Some of the cultural landmarks that can be found in the Castello District, beside Arsenale and Biennale gardens, include Basilica Santi Giovanni e Paolo, Scuola di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, Chiesa dei Greci, Campo Santa Maria Formosa, Chiesa di San Zaccaria and many others. This area is the most integrally authentic part of Venice historical centre.
The apartment has been furnished with a decidedly contemporary style, while fittings and lighting enhance by contrast the value of its historical features. The San Lorenzo is a small exclusive home with high wooden beamed ceilings, Terrazzo Veneziano flooring, tall arched windows and designer furniture. In particular the steel kitchen is a jewel of technology and design, with all basic amenities and perfectly fitting in the living room environment.
The apartment is thought to host couples, but the sofa-bed is truly comfortable, with real mattress and a functional pull-out mechanism. Also, the bathroom is in line with the exclusivity of this home, with a large shower cabin and marble top. Amenities of the apartment includes air-conditioning, Wi-Fi internet connection, washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, kettle, TV with DVD player, etc.
The main feature of the apartment is definitively the pleasant canal view, particularly enjoyable from the balconies that allow to admire the outlook at its best. Last but not least, the rental fee is very attractive for this level of accommodation, possibly due to the fact that the location is less central than other more commercial apartments.
We strongly suggest this apartment to demanding travellers who keep an eye on the budget and prefer the less touristy areas.

Lovely first-floor appartment with two Juliet balconies overlooking a quiet canal. Our water taxi from the airport dropped us one minute away! Great kitchen lounge with all amenities and comfortable bedroom with king-size bed. Two minutes walk from amazing neighbourhood with a real village feel. Butcher, baker, greengrocer plus great bars anf excellent Trattoria Jonny. Ten minutes walk to Biennale at Arsenale and ten minutes to San Marco. Oliva Nera restaurant-our favourite in Venice- is five minutes away. Castello rocks! Finally a big thank you to Victoria and Anna at Truly Venice for helping to make our stay so soecial. Five stars

Lovely comfortable apartment in a quiet part of the city but close to everything you need. We really enjoyed the local trattoria and bars. Lots of detailed maps and contact information were provided and the ‘greeter’ was friendly and helpful too

Lovely quiet location 10 mins walk from the sights of Venice but out of the way enough to feel authentic. Well appointed and well equipped apartment. We had a great time and would thoroughly recommend.

The San Lorenzo flat was a great location. We were met at the Ospedale vaporetto stop by a staff member of Truly Venice and walked to the flat. This made finding the flat a non-issue. It was a short distance from the stop and over only 2 bridges. This made it easier with luggage. We enjoyed the canal view and it was quiet at night. A small grocery store and a local wine shop were feet from the door. A Coop was near the Ospedale stop and another grocery store Bailo was nearby. It is a walkable distance to S. Marco and the Rialto bridge. The Ospedale stop was easy to get to any location in Venice and Murano. It was easy to use Alilaguna to and from the airport from the Ospedale stop. There is a very small apartment size washing machine. Enough kitchen equipment to cook a meal for two. Olive oil, balsamic vinegars and some spices were in the cabinet. No microwave. A change of sheets and towels were included in the eight days of our stay. We ate at Ai pie del ponte, Nevodi, and Pietra Rossa. All were very good and nearby. Nevodi was the farthest. Would highly recommend the location and would stay at this flat again. The staff at Truly Venice were great with communication.

Modern and very comfortable accommodation in a quiet area and at the same time a short distance from everything you may want to do. We'd be happy to come back. Truly Venice is very professional; And this apartment/neighborhood is a real gem!

Communication with Truly Venice were excellent right from the beginning of the booking and throughout. The apartment is modern and in a quiet residential location and yet a 10 minute walk from the main touristy areas. Thanks to the team at Truly Venice Denis

This was my second stay in the San Lorenzo apartment. Everything from pick up from water taxi to standard of apartment fit out and cleanliness was perfect. It is a lovely location, very quiet but close to Giardini, Arsenale, San Marco and Rialto Bridge. I can get everywhere on foot.

Located in a quiet area with a supermarket just around the corner for every thing you need and easy walking to all the major attractions. A representative met us when we stepped off the boat and walked us to the apartment, gave us the usual tour of the property which was appreciated. Would stay there again no problem.)

Lovely clean and spacious apartment in the Castello area. Loved arriving back after a day sightseeing to enjoy a glass of wine on the little balconies. Very well equipped with everything we needed. The company and rep were very helpful. Excellent little wine shop just along from the apartment where you can buy excellent wine by the litre and unbelievably cheap. 2 lovely supermarkets, bread shop, butcher and good local cafes all close by. Would definitely recommend Truly Venice and the apartment. Good tip is to buy a weekly vaporetta pass.

The San Lorenzo apartment has been absolutely wondeful. Everything that I needed was here. This was a lovely place to come "home" after a day spent exploring this magical city. I will recommend it to friends and will use Truy Venice again : professional, corteous, prompt... I have nothing but sweet things to say! Thank you for such a wonderful place! :-)

This gorgeous apartment has been my second home for the past 6 weeks. I have loved living here in Castello as I worked for the exhibition installation in the Australian Pavilion for La Biennale 2017. The apartment comfort, location, canal view and quietness were such a comfort for me throughout long work hours and I will definitely return for the 2019 Biennale. I highly recommend Local Restaurant (Ristorante Local) further down the canal, plus on Via Garibaldi Le Spighe for vegan/vegetarian, in Santa Croce La Zucca and in Cannaregio Vino Vero. Thank you for a wonderful home here in Castello, Venice!

Beautiful apartment in a great location. Walking distance to many of the attractions but without the crowds. The greeter was wonderful and gave us many recommendations for restaurants, grocery stores, water taxi stops etc. Balcony overlooks a canal that has just enough traffic to be interesting but not too busy.

We had a perfect stay in the apartment San Lorenzo, very well located in the Castello, quiet and less touristy than others, very pleasant to live while being very close to the busiest places. The apartment is in perfect condition, fully equipped and furnished for two, it makes you feel at home. Small balconies on the canal are somewhat small to eat, but sufficient to admire the ballet of boats. Team Truly Venice was very available and symathique, and we did not have any surprises, description and services correspond exactly to what was advertised. Thank you to all and see you soon! Live like a local. The San Lorenzo apartment is as good as it looks on the website. It is located in a quiet part of Castello, but only 10 minutes away from Piazza San Marco. Everything is brand new. There is a lift, so you don 't have to carry your suitcase up the stairs. I loved the compact kitchen and cooked a feast of the beautiful, fresh food I could get from the nearby supermarkets and fruit stands every night. This was my second stay with Truly Venice and I must say their service is absolute top. Can't wait to live at the San Lorenzo apartment again.

The Wonderful Secret in the Castello. We woke up in the dark in Milan and took the train to Venice where, bone tired, we struggled to make the pay phone work and contacted Daniella. Moments later Enrico met us at the vaporetto stop and showed us to our Truly Venice apartment. It was a vision of comfort and utility. Enrico gave us the tour of the apartment, keys and a map of Venice where he circled the places close by to shop for our essentials. The apartment had everything that you expect to have to do without when you leave home on vacation: dishwasher, clothes washer, refrigerator, microwave, toaster, stove top with electric burners, stainless steel sink, and the biggest and best shower we've ever seen. Of course there was a king size bed. The closet was huge; the ceilings were high in the sky. There were two balconies. It was quiet. Oh yes, don't let me forget we had an elevator. I'm surprised we left that apartment. But we did and found we were pretty centrally located, though staying in one of the few remaining real neighborhoods in Venice, and that there was so much to see and enjoy in even in this less touristy part of Venice. We would return tomorrow if we could. And sometime we will return to Venice. Now we know where we want to stay.

Thank you again for all of your help in arranging such a beautiful apartment for us to rent in Venice recently. We had a wonderful time and would definitely recommend your company to others traveling to Venice in the future.

I would like to thank everyone at Truly Venice, my husband and I had a wonderful stay at San Lorenzo apartment last week. The apartment was beautiful, clean and had everything we needed, we enjoyed staying there and in the great location of Castello. Thanks also for the supplies of coffee, sugar, olive oil, salt and pepper which were most appreciated. Thank you all for making our stay in Venice so very special. We have visited Venice many times and now prefer to stay in apartments rather than hotels to enable us to practice our Italian language skills and to feel like locals (if only for a few days). We were very impressed with the apartment and the organisation of Truly Venice. We are planning to stay in one of your apartments again next year (either San Lorenzo again or perhaps San Felice). Thanks to all at Truly Venice.
