It is located in the heart of the historical centre of Venice, close to San Tomà and the Rialto area, in the San Polo District, a truly authentic part of the city where you can experience fine Venetian dining and shopping in local artisans and artists ateliers.
It is complex to describe the beauty of this house: the atmosphere and the genuine Venetian hospitality is simply unique. The tall south facing windows on the Grand Canal confer to the house exceptional brightness. The perfectly preserved stuccoes and frescoes on the walls and ceilings portraying mythological scenes, the inimitable terrazzo flooring, the beautiful fabrics and precious art works confer a special charm, to the point that it feels like if a time machine brought you back in the Renaissance period.
The Serenissima can also be accessed by foot from the private court yard on the rear of the property. The San Tomà Vaporetto stop (ferry) and the Traghetto (Gondola) are only 2 minutes’ walk from the house which enables you to cross the Grand Canal and reach the San Marco District in about 5 minutes.
The Serenissima apartment is located on the Second Noble Floor and it is laid out on about 500 square meters. You will be welcomed in the striking entrance hall that leads to the splendid and comfortably furnished living room with ample windows and full-length balcony on Grand Canal. The kitchen is professionally equipped to the highest standard, there is a laundry room with a washer and dryer as well as a library room with Wi-Fi internet connection.
Daily maid service starting at 9.30 am is included per day with linen and towels change every 5 days included in the rental fee.
The north facing sleeping area is composed of four gracefully furnished double bedrooms, very comfortable and air-conditioned, serviced by two bathrooms, while a third gorgeous marble bathroom with bathtub is accessible from the living area. Please be aware that only the bedrooms are air-conditioned.
Please note that the bed sizes are not standard: the bed in the frescoed bedroom is 190cm long and 200cm large, the bed in the bedroom with balcony is 195cm long by 195cm wide (and both these bedrooms can be used as double or twins, on request) while in the other 2 bedrooms the bed is 190cm by 190cm.
The house is ideal for 6 guests as there are 3 bathrooms, but there is plenty of room for an extra couple if requested. Please consider that the precious furniture of the Serenisssima is delicate, therefore not recommended for children.

To be on the Grand Canal, in that palazzo, was really something special. For us and our group, it was great. We loved feeling a part of history. The kitchen had every tool and dish imaginable. The location was, naturally, the very best. I can see how some people might have issues with air conditioning only in the bedrooms during very hot periods, but for us, it was OK. The balcony onto the Grand Canal erased any memory of the heat.

Myself and my adult family stayed at La Serenissima for four days over Christmas and had a wonderful time. The apartment is spacious, quiet, very warm and beautiful in every way. We shopped in the Rialto, made Christmas dinner in the very well equipped kitchen and sat down to it in the huge dining room. The location of the apartment is very convenient, slightly away from the tourist track of San Marco but close to a vaporetto stop and within easy walking distance of the Rialto. But the single most extraordinary thing about this apartment is the balcony which is accessed from the living room and looks directly on to the Grand Canal . We found ourselves there first thing in the morning and last thing at night, unable to drag ourselves away from the extraordinary view.

Buongiorno Daniela, Apologies for the late reply but we haven't forgotten our amazing experience at the Villa Serenissima. The journey through Venezia and our stay at the Villa was nothing short of a fairytale that we could only dream about; It was simply amazing and difficult to put into words. The villa was glorious and magical with its grandeur, canal views, artwork, and classic furniture pieces. Our group of family and friends enjoyed the stay to the utmost and - for all - it will remain an unforgettable experience. The hospitality of Truly-Venice (Daniela + Team) was world class - assisting us every step of the way, including the organization of a private chef for cocktails and dinner at the Villa - Simply Amazing!! Daniela and her team made sure we felt home away from home, making the experience truly relaxing and immersive in the grandour walls and canals of Venezia. Our entire party LOVED every single minute of events in the Villa and we are most grateful to you!!

The apartment was stunning....A beautiful classical palazzo residence right on the Grand Canal. The on-site attendant made using the kitchen, dining facilities etc very seamless. The spaciousness and high level of classical decor were exceptional. We look forward to returning.

Thank you very much for looking after us on our trip to Venice., May 2010. We were a party of four friends. We were originally booked into Dogaressa for 5 days but at the very last minute we were only able to stay in Dogaressa for first two days ( due to urgent work on the Palazzo, no fault of Truly Venice who had no notice). Daniela came up trumps with a very last minute arrangement for a three day stay in the beautiful Serenissima. Dogaressa came up to our expectations. Good showers and comfortable beds. Of note we would say this is ideal for 4-6 people unless treveling with children who could be accommodated in the two ajoining bedrooms, the second ajoined bedroom with it's own bathroom has really small (short beds). The reason we booked Dogaressa was the private terrace on the Grand Canal. This really is a magical place to have a drink with really staggering views on the canal and was definitely worth paying for. When the work is finished this will be an ideal place in the warmer months as it has an outside courtyard which would be nice to have breakfast etc. Serenissima is a true Piano Nobile in Palazzo on the Grand Canal (near St Toma) and very central. This is very large with no lesss than 3 sitting rooms, we only used the main drawing room which has five floor to ceiling windows opening out onto the balcony overlooking the Grand Canal. We never tired of observing the the activities of the canal. Though not a sitting terrace like Dogaressa there is plenty of room to stand and have a drink. As a big bonus we were not expecting we opted for the delightful Anna (cook) to prepare breakfast for us and we would very much reccommend this. Sitting in the rather grand dining room with a beautifully laid table was an excellent way to start the day. This room also has large windows overlooking the canal. If we used this apartment again we would definitely have Anna prepare dinner for us I'm sure it would be very special and a setting that would beat most restaurants. Another bonus was Cacum who lives in an upstairs bit of the Palazzo (very unobstrusive) he was also delightful and very helpful and insisted on acting as our Butler. He very soon realised that we liked tea after returning from our sightseeing and it was magically there and he brought our pre-dinner drinks on a silver tray etc. We were treated like honoured guests. The kitchen is something else, this is equipped for serious banquets, we didn't cook and why would you want to when Anna will do it for you (you pay for the food) and for dinner I guess you also pay for her time but not sure. We used private water taxis as both have their own private water entrance. These are two of the more expensive apartments on Truly Venice list but when you look at trying to get the equivalent in a hotel it becomes a very good and quite frankly a better and cheaper alternative. We had three bedrooms one huge, so could accommodate 6 persons, however only two bathrooms (one ensuite the second semi ensuite ( accessible from bedroom and landing)so ideal for four of us, comfortable beds with good showers. There are some serious antiques and paintings here so not really suitable for small children. You can be assured Daniela and Truly Venice will look after you in our experience. We would certainly use them again.
